A Glória do Zelotismo

Este mundo perdeu a sua glória e são apenas palavras contraditórias que nos obrigam a tentar compreender o último ataque mortal contra seres humanos em Israel. A retórica de alguns que tentam justificar os ataques mina a decência básica da humanidade.

As pessoas lançam palavras a partir dos seus confortáveis sofás nas redes sociais, tentando justificar as razões pelas quais os ataques ocorreram e que as consequências são o resultado da opressão do Estado palestiniano pelos judeus. Outros pontificam sobre a descolonização e as suas consequências violentas, insinuando que as pessoas que vivem em países que foram colonizados em algum momento da História não devem ter o direito de viver lá e devem devolver a terra aos seus proprietários originais.

Estes revolucionários são os mesmos que aplaudem a queima de igrejas no Canadá e acreditam que a violência é uma força purificadora.

Desde 7 de outubro de 2023, quando ocorreu a invasão de Israel, plataformas como o Twitter (X) expuseram um grande segmento da população mundial a aplaudir a ocorrência de violações, infanticídio e racismo descarado, sem qualquer grau de compaixão por aqueles que perderam as suas vidas.

A guerra de palavras continua desde os ataques, independentemente das suas odiosas consequências. Para onde foi a humanidade do Homem ao ponto de podermos cometer crimes contra inocentes sem qualquer grau de compaixão? É urgente fazer um exame profundo aos nossos corações e mentes, antes que a pouca empatia que nos resta desapareça. Grande parte da hipérbole odiosa tem origem em faculdades universitárias que pontificam a partir da segurança das suas salas e do seu mandato, apoiando uma organização terrorista e os seus atos assassinos. Será que não viram as mesmas imagens que enojaram e revoltaram as pessoas normais? Esta guerra, que agora se intensificou como resposta aos ataques, tem implicações graves para o bem-estar do mundo.

Quando chamamos ao tiroteio de jovens num concerto um ato de “resistência anticolonial”, ultrapassamos a linha da opinião democrática e entramos nas metáforas nazis utilizadas pelos nazis para eliminar os judeus. David Frum afirmou que “o Hamas começou, agora Israel tem de acabar”. A questão é “o que é que Israel vai acabar?”
Sim, tem de haver uma resposta forte por parte dos israelitas em Gaza, que resultará na morte de milhares de civis inocentes sob o pretexto de eliminar os terroristas do Hamas. A erradicação do Hamas será uma tarefa impossível, uma vez que o martírio é um dogma para estes assassinos. A sociedade não pode eliminar o ódio das mentes das pessoas e o frenesim alimentado pela desesperança assegurará que, para o resto das nossas vidas, o problema não será resolvido. As palavras são hoje o veículo que comanda as ações violentas.

As manifestações em todo o mundo que apoiam uma ou outra posição continuarão em nome da liberdade democrática, mas a liberdade não deve cruzar uma linha que encoraje o ódio e o discurso. Muitos de nós estão tão imersos nas suas verdades que não conseguem ver a verdade. Fechamos a nossa mente porque concluímos que não há nada a fazer senão esconder os nossos pensamentos que poderiam contrariar a objetividade da realidade do mal. O antissemitismo manifestou-se mais do que nunca em todo o mundo devido a este conflito e talvez isso seja positivo, pois temos de lutar contra um preconceito conhecido, caso contrário, a seguir será contra tudo o resto, que os fanáticos propagarão se a sociedade não reagir.

O Canadá tornou-se um país onde o extremismo está a crescer a um ritmo acelerado e as nossas crianças estão a ser doutrinadas nas nossas escolas e universidades. Estamos a perder o nível de vida para o qual viemos para o Canadá porque os fanáticos radicalizados estão a tomar conta das mensagens. Onde estão os nossos líderes que moldam a política social canadiana? Talvez seja demasiado tarde, pois já foram feitos demasiados estragos. O ódio, a falsidade e a desconfiança parecem estar na ordem do dia.

The Glory of Zealotry

This world has lost its glory and it is only contradictory words that forces us to try to understand the latest deadly attack on human beings in Israel. The rhetoric coming from some attempting to justify the attacks undermines the basic decency of humanity.

People throw around words from their comfortable sofas on social media trying to justify the reasons why the attacks occurred and that the consequences are the result of oppression of the Palestinian state by the Jews. Others pontificate about the decolonization and its violent consequences, insinuating that people who live in countries which were settled sometime in history should not have the right to live there and should return the land to its original owners. These revolutionaries are the same people who applaud burning of churches in Canada and believe that violence is a cleansing force. Since October 7, 2023, when the invasion of Israel occurred, platforms such as Twitter (X) exposed a large segment of the world’s population cheerleading the occurrences of rape, infanticide and in your face racism without any degree of compassion for those who lost their lives. The war of words continues since the attacks regardless of their odious consequences.

Where has the humanity of man gone that we can commit crimes against the innocent without any degree of compassion? A thorough examination of our hearts and minds is urgently needed before the little empathy that is left is gone. Much of the hateful hyperbole is originating in University faculties pontificating from the safety of their lounges and security of their tenure, supporting a terrorist organization and its murderous acts. Did they not see the same images that sickened and revolted normal people?

This war, which has now escalated as a response to the attacks, carries severe implications for the well-being of the world. When we call shooting of young people at a concert an act of “anti-colonial resistance”, we crossed a line of democratic opinion and into the Nazi-like metaphors used by the Nazis to eliminate the Jews. David Frum made the statement “Hamas started it so now Israel must finish it”. The question is “what is Israel going to finish?”

Yes, there must be a strong response by the Israelis in Gaza which will result in the killing of thousands of innocent civilians under the guise of eliminating the Hamas terrorists.

The eradication of Hamas will be an impossible task since martyrdom is dogma for these murderers. Society cannot eliminate the hatred from people’s minds and the feeding frenzy of hopelessness will ensure that for the rest of our lives the problem will not be resolved. Words are today the vehicle that runs violent actions.

Demonstrations around the world supporting one position or another will continue in the name of democratic freedom, but freedom should not cross a line that encourages hate and discourse. Many of us are so immersed in our truths that we fail to see the truth. We close our minds because we conclude that there is nothing we can do but to hide our thoughts which could counter the objectivity of the reality of evil.

Antisemitism has shown itself more than ever throughout the world because of this conflict and perhaps that is a positive thing for we must fight against a known prejudice otherwise next it will be anti-everything else, which zealots will propagate if society does not react.

Canada has become a country where extremism is growing at a fast pace and our children are being indoctrinated in our schools and universities. We are loosing the standard of living that we came to Canada for because radicalized fanatics are taking over the messaging. Where are our leaders that shape Canadian social policy? Perhaps it’s too late as too much damage has already been done. Hate, fakeness, and mistrust seems to be the order of the day.
