Cadillac Fairview pedestrian bridge officially opens in Toronto

The bridge will create an integrated experience for those travelling between the CF Toronto Eaton Centre and the Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue flagship locations, states a release.
Development of the custom-designed bridge commenced earlier this year. It involved a multi-phased process that required assembly adjacent to the shopping centre on James Street before being lifted into place. The structure, which features glass and etched bronze cladding panels, provides distinct interior and exterior vantage points for users looking outward or pedestrians looking above from street level.
Overall, CF has invested over $1 billion in CF Toronto Eaton Centre since 2010 and the opening of the bridge marks another significant milestone in the redevelopment of the iconic retail property, the release concludes.
