Of that number, 85 were in Toronto, while an additional 41 were in Peel Region.<\/p>\n<section id=\"inread-wrapper-id-5949055\"><\/section>\n<p>Many in the Greater Toronto Area are keeping an eye on Premier Doug Ford&#8217;s government to see if it will extend its reopening to the\u00a0region, as new daily COVID-19 cases continue\u00a0to trend downward.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at the latest stats from the city:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Monday, Toronto confirmed 85 new COVID-19 cases.<\/li>\n<li>There are 303 people in hospital, with 73 requiring intensive care.<\/li>\n<li>Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0most suburban neighbourhoods\u00a0continue to be hardest hit, though some dense downtown neighbourhoods also have higher levels of COVID-19.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Toronto&#8217;s coronavirus death toll, meanwhile, is nearing 1,000.
