The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s major crimes unit is investigating a bag of guns pulled from the cold, choppy waters around Cape Spear Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The RNC’s\u00a0marine unit, the tactics and rescue unit, as well as the St. John’s Regional Fire department’s high-angle rescue unit\u00a0were all called to the cliffside near the popular tourist spot Monday afternoon to help with the recovery.<\/p>\n
Police found the guns after responding to a call about\u00a0“suspicious property” in the Cape Spear area around 1 p.m. Monday.<\/p>\n
Officers rappelled\u00a0down the steep cliffs to pull the guns from the water.<\/p>\n
Police are asking anyone\u00a0with any information about the guns to contact them or to call Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n
