{"id":40265,"date":"2019-07-16T11:49:30","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T15:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mileniostadium.com\/?p=40265"},"modified":"2019-07-16T11:49:30","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T15:49:30","slug":"bag-of-guns-found-in-waters-off-cape-spear-police-confirm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mileniostadium.com\/canada\/bag-of-guns-found-in-waters-off-cape-spear-police-confirm\/","title":{"rendered":"Bag of guns found in waters off Cape Spear, police confirm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary&#8217;s major crimes unit is investigating a bag of guns pulled from the cold, choppy waters around Cape Spear Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The RNC&#8217;s\u00a0marine unit, the tactics and rescue unit, as well as the St. John&#8217;s Regional Fire department&#8217;s high-angle rescue unit\u00a0were all called to the cliffside near the popular tourist spot Monday afternoon to help with the recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Police found the guns after responding to a call about\u00a0&#8220;suspicious property&#8221; in the Cape Spear area around 1 p.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers rappelled\u00a0down the steep cliffs to pull the guns from the water.<\/p>\n<p>Police are asking anyone\u00a0with any information about the guns to contact them or to call Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"credits-overlay\" data-target=\".wp-image-40266\"><a href=\"\" target=\"_blank\">DR<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary&#8217;s major crimes unit is investigating a bag of guns pulled from the cold, choppy waters around Cape Spear Monday afternoon.
