A woman was killed in a shooting outside a Mississauga bar\u00a0early Monday, Peel police say.<\/p>\n
Police were called to\u00a0the area\u00a0of\u00a0Drew Road and Torbram Road\u00a0at 2:48 a.m.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found a\u00a0woman suffering from a gunshot wound, according to\u00a0Const. Sarah Patten,\u00a0spokesperson for Peel Regional Police. The woman\u00a0was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Investigators have not released her name or\u00a0age.<\/p>\n
Patten said on Monday that\u00a0police believe there were witnesses to the shooting and investigators are\u00a0appealing\u00a0for them to come forward.<\/p>\n
“I am unaware of how busy it was. There were multiple patrons outside this establishment,” she told CBC Toronto.<\/p>\n
“As to exactly what transpired, we are unaware at this time. It’s still very early in the investigation.”<\/p>\n
A large crime scene that includes two plazas and a section of Torbram Road continues to be\u00a0taped off as officers investigate.<\/p>\n
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. They\u00a0are now canvassing the area for security camera video, Patten said.<\/p>\n
Peel police’s forensic identification unit is also at the scene.<\/p>\n
Patten said they have no suspect information yet.<\/p>\n
Earlier, canine units and tactical teams searched the area for a\u00a0suspect.<\/p>\n
