{"id":32561,"date":"2019-04-02T10:40:57","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T14:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mileniostadium.com\/?p=32561"},"modified":"2019-04-02T10:40:57","modified_gmt":"2019-04-02T14:40:57","slug":"ontario-liberals-meet-today-to-discuss-possible-wilson-raybould-philpott-ouster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mileniostadium.com\/canada\/ontario-liberals-meet-today-to-discuss-possible-wilson-raybould-philpott-ouster\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario Liberals meet today to discuss possible Wilson-Raybould, Philpott ouster"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div class=\"story\">\n<p>Ontario Liberal MPs\u00a0have called a special meeting for 12:30 p.m. ET today as\u00a0pressure mounts to kick Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott out of the caucus.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not yet clear when the full caucus will meet to determine the fate of the two former cabinet ministers.<\/p>\n<p>Several Liberals have publicly condemned\u00a0Wilson-Raybould\u00a0for secretly taping a Dec. 19 conversation with Privy Council clerk Michael Wernick.<\/p>\n<p>The 17-minute audiotape was submitted as evidence to the Commons justice committee Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson-Raybould said late Monday that she wants to remain in the caucus and sees no reason she should be expelled.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I do not believe that I should be removed from caucus for doing my job and for doing what I believe is right,&#8221; she told reporters as she left the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Government House Leader Bardish Chagger\u00a0did not predict how the full caucus will decide.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team will have conversations and we&#8217;ll find a way forward,&#8221; she said on her way in to a cabinet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"credits-overlay\" data-target=\".wp-image-29187\"><a href=\"\" target=\"_blank\">DR<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ontario Liberal MPs\u00a0have called a special meeting for 12:30 p.m. ET today as\u00a0pressure mounts to kick Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott out of the caucus.
