Eat healthier? Exercise?

Here we are, once again, discussing another problem that has existed for decades, and nothing ever gets done.  Nothing, because it’s not in the program.  What is in the program?  More of the same excuses.  All lies.  I remember in 1970, when we moved to Toronto, we were immediately directed to Dr. Vargas, whose office was at Southeast corner of College and Manning.  

Twenty-five years later, when I moved with my family to the country, it took nine years to be assigned a family doctor.  I know that it has always been more difficult to attract doctors to rural areas, but doing nothing is not a viable option.  Once in Portugal, it took about ten years to be assigned a family doctor; a problem, I’m told, still persists today, but more in the cities.  So, I’m a little miffed to see that nothing has changed.  It’s just like all the other societal woes we all face; no money, which is, of course an outright lie, in any country.  Essential services cannot be run for profit, we always end up with poor quality for a high price.  The underlying issue is, and has always been, funneling control of our essential services into the hands of the ultra-wealthy.  They have been systematically destroying all of our public services so they can swoop in and claim that, in their hands, all will be good and fair, and safe.  We all know that nothing could be further from the truth.  

Miraculously, “flailing” public corporations end up producing profit and wealth, once they’re sold.  We all notice, but do nothing.  What can we do?  Short of a revolution against these oligarchs, absolutely nothing.  This system is set up to funnel power and wealth to the few that are unscrupulous enough to feed off of it, and, simultaneously, they flaunt it for all to see.  Also, there are many who see them as heroes, I mean no one knows the average person and how they live better that a multi- billionaire.  These guys have amassed so much money, (virtual or not), that they can interfere and influence economies.  Just look at what’s been coming out of the States.  Elon Musk, an unofficial official, is tearing up agreements and support for everything under the son, both domestically and internationally.  Trump is treating the world like his playpen, and we’re cowering in his wake because we’re afraid there won’t be any American money to go around.  Screw American policy!  They have their tentacles in every part of the world and it’s time they be severed.  We need to begin a movement to turn our backs on the US, but the money is so good!  Are we really going to kneel at his feet for money?  We, as a planet, need to ween ourselves off these vampires and chart our own path, together with all our neighbours.  Many of us saw this coming, but didn’t want to believe it could ever happen.  We cannot run a world where one guy can wreak havoc for billions.  

Doctors?  they want to go to private as much as corporations do.  They’re on their side, don’t expect any changes.  A government running things with the people in mind isn’t in the game plan.
