Deer in the headlights

What the hell is going on? Apparently, Trump can say whatever he wishes, about whomever or whatever, and no matter how ridiculous, people become afraid! He’s going to annex Canada? Really? Is he going to invade? Start a world war? I doubt it. But, in hindsight, he is a spoiled baby, and his tantrums might cause some waves. But give me a break, what kind of a system is this where one delusional megalomaniac can set the world on its ear? Since day one, he’s been axing, gutting, threatening and bullying his way around, and everyone has got their kid gloves on. Greed is a scary thing. All the puppets supporting him are allowing this absurdity to flourish just so they can add a few zeroes to their accounts.
No one in their right mind would ever allow for something like this to go on. Not one politician, from anywhere in the US, is standing up and stating the obvious; the emperor has no clothes. He’s called himself king, he accused Zelenski of terrorism, he backs dictatorial governments and parties openly, (something previous administrations always did, but always denied), he’s even bulldozing any initiatives involving the word “climate”. How sick do you have to be? Yet he’s at the helm of the most powerful economy on the planet, one with military might spread throughout the world. And while the worlds would-be despots applaud him, at least there are those who can see things much more clearly. In Canada, a country that any other nation would be lucky to have as a neighbour, people are actually doing what they can to let buddy know that they’re not afraid to fight back. It’s the kind of patriotism that is actually positive; buy Canadian, travel Canada, etc.
These are good attitudes at any given time, and one that should be the backbone of any nation. The United States and its 1% convinced the world, (so to speak), that free trade was the way to go. In reality, the States wanted to be able to stomp freely on other economies by bringing in their goods, tariff free, and flooding the markets. They weren’t the only ones, but when it comes to money, they’re ahead of the game. The US dollar became the strongest currency around because everyone was trading in it. What a deal. But now, Trump has awakened the world to the reality of what it’s become, and the world is not happy. People are pushing back.
Trump is stating that the aid offered over many years to many countries is now leverage to ask whatever he wishes, which was never part of the agreement, but probably always part of the plan, the only difference being that now it’s Trump ‘diplomacy’, which translates to threats and bullying. He obviously doesn’t give a damn about his people, much less the rest of us. He’ll deal with anybody who convinces him he’s number one. One of the few countries that could reign him in is China, who he’s labeled as enemy number one. An enemy that his country owes incredible sums of money to. Convenient. Problem for him is Americans are addicted to the cheap stuff manufactured in the Orient, which could bring on hard times for his supporters. In the end, he’ll probably blame immigrants and migrants for the lack of affordable stuff, and his clan will believe him. I don’t know how this farse has taken hold in such a way. I don’t know why people aren’t up in arms. What have we all become? He’s showing us.
Fiquem bem,
