A man was shot dead in the city’s east end early Wednesday, Toronto police say.
The shooting happened around 3 a.m. outside a bar near the corner of Danforth and Greenwood avenues.
Officers arrived and found the man unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed him to a trauma centre, where he was pronounced dead.
Police were unable to provide any further details about the victim.
Witnesses reported seeing at least two, but possibly three, people get into a vehicle and speed away after the gunfire, police said. No more detailed description of the vehicle was available this morning.
Homicide investigators have taken over the case.
