Amber Alert issued for 14-year-old boy forcibly abducted in Toronto

Toronto police have issued an Amber Alert for a 14-year-old boy they believe was abducted in the northwest end of the city.

Police say they’re extremely concerned for the safety of Shammah Jolayemi, who was last seen near Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue on Wednesday at 8:25 a.m. ET, when two males reportedly forced him into a black Jeep.

Insp. Jim Gotell said that Jolayemi was heard yelling, “Help me! Help me!” as he was physically loaded into the vehicle.

One of the boy’s parents called police at about 5:30 p.m. ET to report that he had not returned home.

“We do believe that the young man has been abducted,” Gotell said.

Shammah is described as about five feet, 11 inches to six feet tall, with a slim build and short dark brown hair. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey track pants with a thin orange stripe down each leg, shiny black puffy coat, and black and yellow Air Jordan sneakers.

Investigators were able to obtain security camera video of the suspect vehicle, though no licence plate number is available. It is described as a Jeep Wrangler with oversize front tires and a front push bar with round fog lights.

Police also want to speak to the boy’s stepbrother, Olakan Osikoya.

“He’s not a suspect but we do believe he might have information that would be beneficial to police and help us in our investigation,” Gotell said.
