A invasão da Ucrânia poderá tornar-se na maior ação militar na Europa, desde 1945. Marca também uma nova era de guerra económica de alto risco que poderá vir a fragmentar a economia mundial.
Putin tornou-se num bêbado com queixumes históricos e indiferença perante o sofrimento dos outros. Os fantasmas há muito quietos estão a ressuscitar na forma de refugiados e corpos ensanguentados espalhados pelas ruas às quais chamam casa. Está a limpar a Ucrânia de forma catártica e metódica ao remover a população e enfraquecendo a perceção do genocídio humano que está a criar. O que as pessoas esperavam, que a invasão fosse resultado da arrogância e diplomacia arriscada de Putin, rapidamente se transformou na impensável perceção de que a Rússia está a apoderar-se de uma nação soberana, desmantelando e destruindo as vidas daqueles que lá vivem. Os direitos antiautoritarismo da Ucrânia estão a ser extrapolados pela recusa das supostas democracias de fornecer apoio militar. O mundo sabe que, sozinha, a Ucrânia irá cair nas mãos dos russos. E quem será o próximo?
As Nações Unidas estimam que existirão cerca de 4 milhões de refugiados ucranianos. A saída em massa da Ucrânia continua a acelerar, e a UE ainda não descobriu o que é autonomia estratégica, ficando à margem, à espera que o sleepy Joe se pronuncie sobre quem comanda. Entretanto, enquanto as pessoas deveriam estar a reconstruir as suas vidas pós-Covid, a invasão está a mergulhar o mundo num estado caótico, repleto de incerteza. As sanções contra o Putin nunca servirão de remédio à destruição imposta nos corpos dos seres humanos a quem deveria ser permitido viver as suas vidas com liberdade digna.
A morte de seres humanos, incluindo crianças inocentes que nasceram na esperança de serem abraçadas por um mundo bom, é repreensível a qualquer nível. Aqueles que estão a correr em direção à segurança, estão a ser expostos aos horrores da guerra, perdendo prematuramente a sua inocência. Refugiados da Ucrânia à Polónia e outros países são recebidos de braços abertos, contudo, se não forem brancos, são recebidos com frieza.
isturar cores, o desespero e racismo numa panela a ferver não é o que se precisa nas fronteiras. As pessoas estão exaustas e pálidas com rostos de quem não dorme, com mães a empurrar carrinhos e segurar os filhos cujos gritos se ouvem por todo o lado. Outros arrastam os pés nas estradas batidas depois de longas caminhadas, colapsando com a exaustão. Os olhares vazios de seres humanos em choque, sem sítio para ir, e sem saber o que fazer quando lá chegarem. Cenas de refugiados negros a serem acompanhados por um batalhão de polícias, ao contrário dos brancos, e da humanidade que às vezes é cega e ignorante. O civismo dos nossos corações pode ser extraído pela guerra.
O pensamento da humanidade a mover-se à força para lugares com nomes estranhos e que não estão associados com quem nós somos, são semelhantes ao morrer e esperar acordar no céu, mas até aí poderão encontrar discriminação. É um mundo cruel com respigos de bondade de estranhos, mas, muitas vezes, a cor com que nascemos dita até onde podemos subir no escadote social.
A situação dos refugiados do mundo tornou-se numa questão desesperante para a sociedade. Acolher os mais necessitados é uma responsabilidade de todos devido à ameaça feita à estabilidade do mundo no futuro.

Ukraine… What now?
The invasion of Ukraine could become the biggest military action in Europe since 1945. It also marks a new era of high-risk economic warfare that could splinter the world’s economy. Putin has become a drunk with historical grievances and indifferent to the suffering of others. The ghosts long quiet are resurrecting in the form of refugees and bloody bodies strewn on streets they used to call home. He is cleansing Ukraine in a cathartic and methodic way by purging the population and decreasing the perception of the human genocide he is creating. What people had hoped, that the invasion was bluster and brinkmanship from Putin, has quickly turned into the unthinkable realization that Russia is taking over a sovereign nation and procedurally destroying and dismantling the lives of those who live there. Ukraine’s rights against authoritarianism are being trumped by the refusal of so-called democracies to help militarily. The world knows that on their own, Ukraine will fall to the Russians. And who will be next?
The United Nations estimate that 4 million Ukrainians will become refugees. The exodus of Ukrainians continues to accelerate, and the EU still has not figured out what strategic autonomy is, thus standing on the sidelines waiting for sleepy Joe to come up with a pronunciation about who is in charge. In the meantime, when people should be rebuilding their lives post Covid-19, the invasion is plunging the world into a chaotic state filled with uncertainty. Punitive measures against Putin will never be a remedy for the destruction imposed on the bodies of human beings who should be allowed to live their lives in dignified freedom.
The killing of human beings, including innocent children who were born hoping to be embraced by a good world is reprehensible at any level. Those who are running to safety are being exposed to the horrors of war, losing their innocence prematurely. Refugees from Ukraine to Poland and other countries are being welcomed with open arms but if you are not white, you get a much frostier reception. Mixing colours, desperation and racism in a boiling pot is not what is needed now at the borders. People are exhausted and pale with unslept faces with mothers pushing buggies and holding onto to their children whose cries are being heard everywhere. Others dragging their feet on the dusty roads after long treks, collapse of exhaustion. The blank stares of human beings in shock with nowhere to go and not knowing what to do when they get there. Scenes of black refugees being accompanied by a phalanx of police unlike the white and humanity, which is sometimes blind and ignorant. The civism of our hearts can be displaced by the war.
The thought of humankind moving forcefully to places with strange names which are unassociated with who we are similar to dying and hoping you wake up in heaven, but even there they may find discrimination. It is a cruel world with splatters of kindness from strangers but the colour we are born with often dictates the societal ladder we can climb.
The plights of worlds refugees have become a desperate issue for society. Accommodating those in need is everyone’s responsibility because of the threat to the stability of the world in the future.
