2022 – Adeus de uma vez por todas!

Refletindo sobre o último ano, momentos cruciais afetaram a vida de milhões de seres humanos.

2022 tem sido tudo, menos comum. Guerra, inflação, escassez energética e as mudanças climáticas atacaram a humanidade de todos os lados, diminuindo as expectativas de um mundo pós-Covid-19, onde a recuperação seria a prioridade para a maioria. Numa nota mais positiva, o mundo desenvolveu uma abordagem resiliente para lidar com mudanças, esperando um resultado positivo e com a esperança de que, a longo prazo, melhores coisas estejam por vir. Olhar para 2022 através de um espelho retrovisor dará a cada um de nós diferentes perspetivas, dependendo de qual seja o seu estatuto social e o quanto você está a sofrer no momento. Depois de experiências negativas, esperamos por um caminho para um crescimento sustentável e inclusivo.

No meu espelho retrovisor, e ignorando o Mundial com toda a sua política, mas culminando com a felicidade de um país, muitas outras questões que afetam a sociedade nos chamam à atenção.

As mudanças climáticas e a transição net-zero que transformariam o mundo economicamente, incluíram conversas substanciais na cúpula deste ano, mas os resultados florescerão de toda a retórica?

As questões das comunidades negras continuam a dominar os meios de comunicação e a criar a impressão de disparidade social. Somente os negros poderão reverter o negativismo e a representação desigual resolvendo questões relacionadas à criminalidade e outras injustiças sociais; será que a cegueira da cor será uma realidade?

A guerra na Ucrânia, onde a devastação de um país tanto mental como culturalmente tem sido perpetrada numa população de cidadãos inocentes, que são vítimas inocentes de um Estaline dos tempos modernos. Ao destruir as suas infraestruturas e ícones culturais, a história de um país desaparece. Qual é o objetivo? O assassino que ressuscitou em Moscovo deveria ser lembrado nos buracos do inferno, tal como se pensa de Hitler.

– Para onde foram os trabalhadores? Os desafios continuam com as empresas a procurar o trabalhador desaparecido. Aqueles dispostos a trabalhar tornaram-se ativistas sociais, chantageando os empregadores porque as folhas de chá assim o dizem. A normalização trará a realidade que a chantagem nem sempre é bem-sucedida.

– LGBTQ continua a ser notícia com campanhas dilacerantes para relembrar as pessoas de que são normais. A normalidade está dentro de cada um de nós e na forma como lidamos com ela. A inclusão forçada geralmente leva a falsas aceitações que não duram muito. Orgulho e aliança são conquistados por serem reais e não marchando em campanha.

– Os cuidados na infância tornaram-se num grito de guerra para pais e governos. Um jogo político que envolve os fenómenos sugerindo que outros deveriam pagar pelo cuidado dos seus filhos. Aqueles que não têm nenhum podem não concordar e como os governos correm para implementar programas, não há contrapeso para aqueles que abusam do sistema.

– Num ambiente onde as mulheres fazem campanhas sobre tetos de vidro e os homens trabalham pela invisibilidade, a estratégia parece seguir a implementação da tendência de “desistir silenciosamente” como forma de avançar. Esta estratégia defeituosa resultará numa diminuição significativa da lealdade às empresas e falta de autorrealização para os trabalhadores que nunca encontrarão o seu lugar na sociedade.

– Tornou-se muito popular gritar que o mundo deve abraçar a “saúde mental e bem-estar de todos”. Esta impossibilidade no mundo em que vivemos é promovida como desculpa ”para se sair da realidade” já que a alternativa não realiza o sonho impossível. Vamos ser sinceros e aceitar os solavancos que a vida normal vai apresentar pelo caminho.

– Bens alimentares. Este mundo está a criar discussões não só sobre a escassez, mas sobre um novo tipo de vigaristas chamados cadeias de supermercados. Uma em cada nove pessoas luta contra a fome e o recurso a bancos alimentares continua com uma tendência de crescimento. Os barões da comida sugerem que eles não ganham dinheiro, e os 3,5 milhões de canadianos famintos não têm voz no governo.

– Inteligência Artificial. A criptomoeda e a internet mostraram em 2022 que uma população mundial sem educação continuará a lutar e a ser roubada por bilionários que não se importam com a forma como ganham o seu dinheiro.

Cada ano traz mais más notícias que seriam aceitáveis se fossem contrabalançadas por boas notícias. Contudo, o mal irá sempre prevalecer sobre o bem e os nossos modos autodestrutivos tornaram difícil reverter o impacto na sociedade. Vamos renovar e esperar que possamos mudar as coisas antes que uma grande renúncia se instale e, pelo desgaste, as pessoas comuns desistam e se desesperem devido à perda de fé.
Vamos fazer melhor em 2023.

2022 – Goodbye Already!

Reflecting on the past year, pivotal moments have affected the lives of millions of human beings.

2022 has been anything but ordinary. War, inflation, energy scarcity and climate change attacked humanity from all sides dimming the expectations of a post Covid-19 world where recovery was top of mind for most. On a positive note, the world developed a resilient approach to deal with the challenges, hoping for a positive outcome and a long-term hope for better things to come. Looking at 2022 through a rearview mirror will give each of us different perspectives depending on what your social status is and how much you are currently suffering. After negative experiences we hope for a path towards sustainable and inclusive growth.
In my rearview mirror and ignoring the World Cup with all its politics but culminating with the happiness of a country, many other issues affecting society grabbed our attention.

Climate change and the net-zero transition which would transform the world economically included substantial talk at this year’s summit but will results flourish from all the rhetoric?

Black issues continue to dominate the media and create the impression of social disparity. Only blacks will be able to reverse the negativism and unequal representation by solving issues related to criminality and other social injustices; will color blindness ever be a reality?

The war in Ukraine where the devastation of a country both mentally and culturally has been perpetrated on a population of innocent citizens who are innocent victims of a modern day Stalin. By destroying its infrastructure and cultural icons, the history of a country disappears. What’s the point? The killer that resurrected himself in Moscow should be remembered in the holes of hell as Hitler is thought of.

• Where have the workers gone? Struggles continue as businesses continue to search for the disappearing worker. Those willing to work have become social activists blackmailing employers because the tea leaves say so. Normalization will bring about the reality that blackmail does not often succeed

• LGBTQ continues in the news with forceful campaigns to remind people that they are normal. Normalcy is inside each of us and how we deal with it. Forceful inclusivity often leads to phony acceptances which are not long lasting. Pride and allyship are earned by being real and not marching in a campaign.

• Childcare has become a rallying cry for parents and governments. A political gamesmanship encircles the phenomena suggesting that others should pay for the care of our children. Those who have none may not agree and as governments rush to implement programs, there are no counter balances for those who abuse the systems.

• In an environment where woman campaigns about glass ceilings and men have worked towards invisibility, the strategy appears to be the implementation of the “quiet quitting” trend as a means of getting ahead. This flawed strategy will result in less meaningful loyalty to companies and lack of self-fulfillment for workers who will never find their place in society.

• It’s very popular to shout that the world should embrace “mental health and well-being for all”. This impossibility in the world we live in is promoted as an excuse to “check out of reality” because the alternative doesn’t fulfill the impossible dream. Let’s get real and accept the bumps that normal life will throw your way.

• Food. This word is creating discussions not only about shortage, but a new type of crook called grocery stores. One in nine people struggles with hunger and food bank usage keeps growing. Food barons suggest they make no money, and the 3.5 million hungry Canadians have no voice in government.

• AI. Cryptocurrency and the internet showed in 2022 that an uneducated world population will continue to struggle and be ripped off by billionaires who couldn’t care less how they make their money.
Each year brings more bad news which would be acceptable if they were counterbalanced by good news. However, the bad will always overwhelm the good and our self-destructive ways have made an impact on society difficult to reverse. Let’s renew and hope we can turn things around before a great resignation sets in and by attrition common people give up and despair due to loss of faith.

Let’s do better in 2023.
