Basketball: Raptors win finale but miss playoffs

In their final home game of the 2024–2025 NBA season on April 9, the Toronto Raptors delivered a commanding 126-96 victory over the Charlotte Hornets at Scotiabank Arena. Rookie Jonathan Mogbo led the team with his first career triple-double, recording 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high 11 assists. 

Jared Rhoden contributed significantly off the bench with a game-high 23 points, while Scottie Barnes added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Raptors showcased a balanced offensive effort, with multiple players scoring in double figures.

This win improved Toronto’s season record to 30-50. However, despite this victory, the Raptors have been eliminated from playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.  

With the home schedule concluded, the Raptors have two away games remaining to close out the season:

April 11: Against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center.

April 13: Facing the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center.  

These upcoming matchups provide opportunities for the team to build momentum and evaluate talent as they prepare for the offseason.
