Some Bell customers reported their smartphone fell back an hour over the weekend, a week before the end of daylight saving time, but the company says the problem has been fixed.

“The issue has been resolved,” Bell told CBC News in an emailed statement.

“The update will be done automatically but customers may need to either reboot their phones or go on airplane mode to trigger the time change. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience.”

It’s not clear how widespread the issue is or why it happened. Some customers of Virgin Plus, which is owned by Bell, were also affected.

Clocks are supposed to “fall back” by one hour at 2 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 7 this year, due to the end of daylight saving time.
